Bethlehem Baptist Church provides annual Christmas service invitations and accompanying Holiday Guides to promote the season's events. The 2018 theme, tidings of great joy, was based on Jesus' miraculous healing of the blind. The beam lighting up the dark backdrop suggests what it might feel like to see for the first time ever, or in a long time. The 2017 theme, God becoming man and dwelling on earth, was a bit of a loftier subject to depict visually ... I thought a vibrant foot captured the dichotomy of humble magnificence, just one attempt to conceptualize the wonder of Creator-becoming-creation.
